Life of ITRA data analytics consultant

Hi Longfei, I have shadowed the team during my summer internship and really enjoyed the variety and creativity involved in the work. The first challenge would be trying to understand how your technical skills are integrated in the business processes, and getting an understanding of the wider process. However, everyone generally pick this up relatively quickly on the job and build it on experience, so no worries!

Can you recommend some resources on researching this line of work please? I have been through the EY website a few times.

Sure! Aside from the career website, you can check out industrial reports/thought leadership/articles published by EY to see how the work is done practically. Aside from that, I'd recommend reaching out to people on LinkedIn

Hi Temiloluwa, Amanda, currently I am reviewing and updating scripts/dashboards to test for completeness of data received from the client. This is done to ensure that the data would be ready for analysis

If you don't mind sharing Clauda, what was your major at university? Did EY train you on technology or did you already have a lot of knowledge

I can also add from an ITRA role (not data specific) we work alot around testing risk relating to how we can manage access to controls, how changes are made and ensuring the application is actually doing what it says it is doing

No worries. I majored in Accounting & Finance at university. Given my interest in technology and coding, I have done multiple online courses in my free time. Helpful skills include SQL, Python and a data visualisation skill e.g Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire etc.
