Hi,
The Valuations team work with a wide range of clients, from calculating Purchase Price Allocations for large transactions (splitting the price between the assets and liabilities purchased and the intangible goodwill), to evaluating goodwill impairments and assisting with valuing individual assets e.g. valuing investments held by a company as part of the annual audit.
The Business Modelling team also work with a variety of clients on different types of projects. They build calculation engines to help business leaders make informed decisions and build bespoke financial models that provide accurate responses to complex transactions (e.g. carve outs, mergers). They also use data to generate advanced analytics and predictive models.
I hope that helps, let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you. I also wanted to ask, how is this service line practically making use of technology to assist in its day to day business practices.

Hi Soluchi,
No specific valuations or modelling skills are required, just an interest in the department and an enthusiasm to learn. All required training will be provided on the graduate scheme.
Transactions as a whole are undertaking a number of initiatives around technology at the moment and ensuring it is embedded in our daily work. There is a dedicated team working on developing a number of pieces of our own technology, including a Natural Language Generation tool to assist with the preparation of reports based on financial data. We also have a number of advances visualisation engines, data transformation platforms and machine learning to produce results.
