I enjoy that every transaction is different - the output we produce is very different depending on the type of transaction (e.g. buy side, sell side, IPO) and the client (e.g. PE house, trade). This means that your role will never be the same. The nature of transactions also mean that the work is fast-paced and over a shorter time period (weeks rather than months) which allows you to work on multiple projects a year. I MADE AN EDIT

Hello,
All graduate roles in EY are paid. Your salary will be confirmed once your application is successful and will depend on the department you will be working in, the location of your office and whether the firm will be sponsoring a professional qualification.
I hope that helps, let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi Tom!
Our FS Restructuring team act as lead advisors in the purchase and sale of NPLs / NPEs (non-performing loans and non-performing exposures respectively). The two terms are generally used interchangeably, but technically NPLs sit within NPEs which is a broader definition. More information on the EBA's definition of NPEs is available here: https://www.eba.europa.eu/documents/10180/449824/EBA-ITS-2013-03+Final+draft+ITS+on+Forbearance+and+Non-performing+exposures.pdf/a55b9933-be43-4cae-b872-9184c90135b9

Bonjour M. ELHADJI,

On the difference between an NPL and and NPE... as Rachel says, NPLs are a subset of NPEs i.e. loans are only one form of a bank’s credit exposures. Whatever the criteria used to define whether a loan is non-performing or not (to arrive at NPL), if you apply the same criteria to any other form of credit exposure as well (say, overdraft facilities, letters of credit, or derivative exposures for example) then I assume you end up with NPE.

In general, a non-performing exposure includes on-balance sheet credit products, debt securities that have characteristics that distinguish it from a technical loan or credit facility and off-balance sheet credit products. Non-performing loans are on-balance sheet loans and credit facilities.
