Hi Nishat, great question! When I tell people I work in tax I often get the response 'oh, you must be great at maths'. But truth be told I have neither a degree or even an A-level in maths. In tax there are a variety of strengths needed in the tax team, whilst yes maths is a part of the job having a calculator negates that necessity. Another part of tax I have found to be interesting is the legislation, as we often have to look at specific tax laws, which requires good literacy and comprehension skills. To conclude this relatively long winded answer: maths is good, but it is not the only strength we look for. Good Luck Nishat :)
