Additional information

I finished my A-Levels, then as I chose to be an accountant late on I missed the boat for getting an apprenticeship. I completed AAT Level 3, then moved on to AAT Level 4 with a local accountancy practice I got employed at. Now my training contract is coming to an end and I would like to move my career path to consulting. I am taking Sam Ovens consulting accelerator programme which has cost me over 2000 pounds, in addition to other courses costing a few hundred pounds each. I am an extremely curious person and self taught with unique perspectives and insights. But I have no qualifications and find it hard to land interviews since much of my knowledge is self taught and not through typical education, but learned from market leaders. I only like to learn from the best, and I do a lot of personal development. Is there a way I do a little bit of work experience or something to showcase myself and knowledge which I cannot backup on paper.

Hi Owen, sounds like you're incredibly committed and congratulations on your AAT Level 3! To add on Amy's response, I would say think about "Why EY"? For apprenticeships and grad schemes there's no expectation of work experience, so have a think about what extra curricular (or indeed work experience) activities you have completed that show initiative, that show leadership, team working and communication. Do your research on EY and types of roles we have here, and when you apply go onto it thinking about what your strengths are and how you can leverage these. Good luck!
