Additional information

Hi Rachel, I have applied to the graduate scheme in the OTS department and I was wondering what the day to day activities or tasks that a graduate in this department gets involved in? And what sort of technical knowledge or skills do we need to possess prior to going for interviews and assessments? Thank you for your help!

Hi Andre,
Great to hear you've applied to OTS - good luck! No technical knowledge or skills are required prior to joining as you will receive all of the training you need on the job (either formally or informally).
The daily role can be project dependent but as an example, my last OTS project was working on the merger of two large financial services companies. I assisted with both the project management of the merger as well as the writing of the 'Day 1' report detailing how the two companies would merge initially and then the 'end state' plan of where they would end up.
I hope that helps
Rachel

Thank you for the insight Rachel, that was really helpful. May I ask you how does EY's transactions department compare to that of the other Big 4?

Hi Andre,
One of the differences is that we have two Transactions teams, one focusing only on Financial Services clients (Banking, Asset Management and Insurance) and the other on all other sectors.
However, the main difference is the core differences between the firms. You'll find a number of threads on it here on PathMotion but for me the big difference is the people-focused nature of EY.
Thanks
Rachel

Zbàhzsùèé Q.

Thank you Rachel. Just one last question, would you happen to know how many graduates the OTS team takes in?

Hi Andre,
I'm afraid I can't answer that as it varies by year and industry.
Sorry
