Hello, I’d like to ask what the responsibilities could be, for a job in the “People Advisory Services” sector?

Hi Allegra, thanks for your question! The different sub service lines within PAS are quite different, do you know which one you are looking at?

I have not been given the option to pick a specific sub service line, my understanding is that there are Performance, Systems and Talent, is that correct?

Great - I am actually in Performance, Systems and Talent now! It has recently been rebranded internally to 'workforce advisory'.

I'd also like to know more about PAS and Global mobility as well. What skills do you need to do well in this unit and what do I need to know to stand out?

We are focused on everything to do with the people agenda which is split into lots of different capabilities, I have been sitting mostly in the 'talent' pillar so far, my first project was doing a full review of the talent acquisition function of a large drinks manufacturer, looking at their recruitment process, branding, capability and capacity.

What could be expected from a potential intern in workforce advisory?

In my current project I have been redesigning the people agenda for a large hotel group and looking at how they can enhance their employee experience. You do not have to have done an internship in order to get a graduate job if that is what you mean? I joined as a graduate without doing the EY internship.

What sort of resources do you use in carrying out your work Natasha?.

I actually started in Global Mobility too - here I dealt with the taxation of international assignees who were on work assignments across two or more countries and looking at the tax implications of this.
People skills are very important in both, to work with both your teams and your clients, you will not be expected to know everything when you join just be keen to learn and develop and show enthusiasm and energy in your teams!

Could I also ask to which extent are mathematics involved in your daily tasks?

I use a number of resources and we have a lot of different systems and tools that are specific to EY - you will be given training on all of our systems when you join.
