If my current salary is higher than the starting salary for a graduate programme (Tax) that I want to apply for, will it be matched if I am successful? I am a Civil Servant and currently on 40k. I graduated three years ago. Is there a tax training programme for experiences professionals?

Hi, I think salaries are pretty standardised, and would be difficult to negotiate before becoming qualified. I too took a pay cut to join EY, but the potential for annual progression and pay increases meant for me it has worked out, I have also found that the skills and technical knowledge I have picked up mean that I can push my career forwards in order to far exceed the salary I was on at my last employer.

That being said, perhaps someone in recruitment could be able to give a better answer Helen K. what do you think?
