What does the business casual dress code look like at EY?
Additional information
On the website the office dress code is ‘business casual’...I was hoping to get a bit more clarity one this as a woman starting at the Manchester office in September - e.g. any specific guidelines, any dress code do’s/dont’s, do you wear heels, how formal are people when in the office? Thank you! :)

Hi,
This is a hard question and I am not sure there is clear definition as it requires some judgement. I guess I would describe it as professional dress that isnât a full suit but isnât so casual it looks like you are going to the beach for the day.
In terms of the top half for men, I would lose the tie, go for neutral coloured shirts that have collars. I would also go for a jumper of mixed colours if that works.
In terms of the bottom half I wouldnât go more casual than Chinos or dark coloured jeans. In terms of shoes I would go for loafers, tie up shoes but not trainers. I would in general also avoid ripped jeans, T shirts, flip flops, hoodies or any other sports wear. Having said that I am no fashionista so if in doubt I would also look on the internet.
I would always rather overdress, read the room and adjust on day 2 as offices across the UK interpret this differently. I would definitely also overdress for a interview if in doubt.
In terms of Womenâs wear I wonât insult anyone by even trying.
Anyway, I hope this helps, but let me know if anything needs any clarity.

I work in the Southampton office which is a regional office that has a dress for your day policy i.e. it is dress down every day if you are in the office and people always wear jeans. However, not every office is like that so that is why I wouldn't go for that on day 1. But in short yes in Southampton we are allowed to wear dark jeans :-)
